Job Description

Carriera is working with a well-established and growing consultancy to recruit an experienced H&S / CDM Consultant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to develop their career within a dynamic and client-focused environment. As an H&S / CDM Consultant, you will support clients across a range of projects, providing expert advice on health and safety and CDM Regulations. You will play a key role in delivering Principal Designer duties and ensuring effective design risk management from project inception through to completion.

Job Responsibility

  • Advise clients on their duties under CDM 2015
  • Undertake Principal Designer duties in line with regulations
  • Manage and coordinate design risk throughout project lifecycles
  • Provide guidance to project teams on health and safety matters
  • Review and contribute to Design Risk Assessments
  • Prepare and manage Health and Safety documentation
  • Coordinate pre-construction phases and project information
  • Conduct CDM audits on construction sites
  • Liaise with contractors, designers, and clients to ensure compliance
  • Attend design, site, and progress meetings
  • Support senior consultants on complex projects
  • Review risk assessments, method statements, and O&M manuals
  • Assist in producing and finalising Health and Safety Files

Requirements

  • IOSH or Association for Project Safety qualification (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar H&S/CDM role
  • Strong knowledge of CDM 2015 and wider H&S legislation
  • Experience managing design risk and working across multiple projects
  • Confident communicator with strong client-facing skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation independently
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
