Job Description:

Are you a driven Health & Safety professional looking to join an established multi-disciplinary construction company? A reputable, specialist civil engineering contractor are looking for a Senior HSE Advisor, initially based on a prestigious highways scheme in the West Midlands. Due to the processes on-site, you must have had experience on highways or major infrastructure projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to join an industry-leading group and driving their Health and Safety agenda to drive continuous improvement on the project. With a very competitive salary of £50-55,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience), this is an excellent role with scope for future development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Acting as the operational site lead for Safety, Health & wellbeing, providing expert advice and assurance
  • Working with, and challenging operational teams to create safe and healthy working environments on all sites
  • Chairing regular HSE calls and briefings and represent the project in operational leadership and framework team meetings
  • Conducting regular site inspections and behavioural observations, reporting findings and ensuring timely close-out and solution
  • Providing daily HSE engagement on site, including toolbox talks, safety briefings, and wellbeing sessions
  • Supporting the operational site teams, ensuring consistency of delivery and capability
  • Supporting the operational delivery of the SHW strategy as directed by the SHW Director
  • Driving compliance with all SHW-related regulatory requirements and industry best practices including ISO45001, ISO14001, ISO9001
  • Leading accidents and incidents investigations, overseeing root cause analysis and embedding learning outcomes into future operations

Requirements:

  • Experience as Health & safety professional within civil engineering, rail and/or highways infrastructure (ESSENTIAL)
  • NEBOSH General Certificate, Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety (ESSENTIAL)
  • Capability managing H&S teams across multiple sites (ESSENTIAL)
  • Proven experience with regulatory and certification processes, including ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 (ESSENTIAL)
  • Membership of IOSH or working toward Chartered status (ESSENTIAL)
  • Evidence of CPD
  • SEATS (Safety, Environmental Awareness Training Scheme)
  • Mental Health First Aid
