Job Description:

The Senior Health Information Manager will work within the Education portfolio alongside two other experienced Senior Health Information Managers. This position will be responsible for the mentoring and training of junior or entry level Health Information Managers. At Austin Health the coding, auditing and education processes are supported by software including Solventum Code Finder, Code Focus (Data Agility) and PICQ Audit (Beamtree).

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a clinical coding course approved by the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) including a minimum of 5 years unsupervised coding within a tertiary public health care facility
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Coding or Leadership role
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, implement and deliver education and training activities to clinical coders, trainees and other hospital staff
  • Excellent clinical coding and auditing skills using ICD-10-AM 13th edition and excellent knowledge of Diagnosis Related Groups (DRGs)
  • Eligibility for full membership to the Health Information Management Association of Australia
