Job Description

Yelp's mission is to connect people with great local businesses. As a trusted source of information on local business, millions of people turn to Yelp every day to make decisions about where to spend their money - from where to eat, shop, or stay, to which home or local service provider to use, and beyond. As part of the Consumer Marketing team, the Senior Growth Scientist will harness rigorous analytics, strategic partnership, and operational execution to fuel Yelp's next phase of user growth. This high-impact role combines deep channel and user analysis, OKR ownership, funnel optimization, and creative data mining of Yelp's vast data sets to accelerate scalable, predictable growth. Our team is passionate about data, experimentation, and the power of new technology, including AI, to drive innovation. We are especially interested in candidates who bring direct experience in applying AI to uncover deep consumer insights. We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement in this posting. At Yelp, we're looking for great people, not just those who simply check off all the boxes. This is a full-time remote role based in the United States.

Job Responsibility

  • OKR Reporting & Measurement: Own the analytics frameworks for investigating performance and help ensure we are on track to Consumer Marketing OKRs
  • User & Channel Insights: Analyze user journeys and channel performance to identify opportunities and friction points across the marketing funnel
  • Marketing Measurement & Funnel Optimization: Develop dashboards, measurement models, and experiment infrastructure for actionable insights throughout the consumer lifecycle
  • Advanced Data Mining & Marketplace Exploration: Dive into Yelp's rich datasets, including trending restaurants, services, foods, and user-generated content, to uncover actionable themes that inform consumer strategy and marketing
  • Leverage Emerging AI & Automation: Use cutting-edge AI and machine learning tools to unlock insights, automate repetitive analyses, and accelerate the discovery of new growth levers
  • Experimentation & Strategic Recommendations: Design, run, and interpret A/B and multivariate experiments
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Collaborate with Marketing, Biz Ops, Product, Engineering, Data & Analytics and Strategy teams to turn analytical insights into business action
  • Develop and Scale Analytical Best Practices: Champion best practices in analytics infrastructure, fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous learning across the growth team
  • Problem-Solving & Strategic Solutioning: Deconstruct complex business challenges into actionable analytical problems, developing and implementing data-driven solutions that directly fuel user growth

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in high-impact analytics, marketing analytics, or business intelligence roles, ideally within B2C or marketplace environments
  • Deep expertise in marketing measurement, user funnel analytics, and advanced data analysis (strong SQL and Excel required
  • familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker etc. and proficiency in Python a plus)
  • Proven experience integrating AI/ML tools into data analysis, reporting, or marketing automation workflows
  • Strong business and product intuition, and the ability to synthesize metrics and trends into clear recommendations
  • Experience with experiment design, A/B testing, and rapid test iteration
  • Collaborative, resourceful, and solutions-oriented approach with a builder's mindset
  • Excellent communicator, verbal and written. Skilled at translating complex analyses into actionable insights for all audiences
  • Intellectual curiosity and an eagerness to stay ahead on AI, analytics trends, and evolving marketing technology
  • Adept Problem Solver: Proven ability to break down ambiguous and complex problems into manageable components, identifying root causes and developing innovative, data-driven solutions

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with BI tools such as Tableau, Looker etc.
  • Proficiency in Python

What we offer

  • Full medical, vision, and dental
  • 15 days PTO (accrual begins on date of hire and increases with 2+ years of tenure thereafter), 12 paid holidays, plus one floating holiday
  • Up to 14 weeks of parental leave
  • Monthly wellness subsidy
  • Work from home reimbursement
  • Flexible spending account
  • 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Employee stock purchase plan
  • Bonus
