The Senior Groups & Events Manager plays a pivotal role within the Central London Marriott Cluster, overseeing complex and high-profile group and event enquiries from initial conversion through execution and post-event follow-up. Requirements
Manage large-scale and VIP enquiries such as city-wide events, awards dinners, and multi-day conferences
Drive conversion through compelling show rounds, funnel calls, and proactive communication
Align with a pre-determined event and group strategy, collaborating with banqueting and kitchen teams to refine offerings and enhance customer satisfaction
Oversee bedroom block management, meeting space inventory, and ensures accurate booking processes
Lead the coordination of daily/weekly Banquet Event Orders (BEOs), facilitate meetings and act as the communication bridge between sales and operations
Ensure consistent and accurate use of hotel systems to uphold brand standards and maintain data integrity
Support team members through training, mentoring, and leading by example
Drive balanced scorecard results across properties and support the Cluster Director in energizing the team through initiatives like closing days and promotional campaigns
Manage financial processes including post masters (PMs), credit requests, deposit schedules, and commission invoices
Participate in monthly hotel credit meetings to ensure financial accuracy and compliance
Set a positive example in guest relations, ensuring all associates understand expectations and deliver exceptional service
Conduct pre- and post-event meetings, solicit feedback from hotel departments, and identify areas for service enhancement
Emphasize guest satisfaction in departmental meetings and encourages ongoing service development
Deliver compelling sales experiences, manages customer budgets effectively, and forecasts group and event revenue accurately
Participate in customer site visits and supports the sales process as needed
Provide feedback to overcome sales challenges such as pricing and inventory limitations
