Job Description:

Fixed Term Contract - 12 months maternity cover; Part Time - 20 hours per week. To provide administrative support to the GP Associate Postgraduate Dean (AD), GP Training Programme Directors (TPD), GP Tutor and GP Training Programme Manager. This involves supervising, overseeing and co-ordinating the administrative requirements associated with delivering the GP Training Programme, post graduate medical education plus post CCT GP and Practice Nurse education and continuing professional development (CPD) through the Swindon GP Education Trust. As part of the full Academy administration team, assist in the day to day operational running of the Academy including reception cover when needed.

Job Responsibility:

  • To provide administrative support to the GP Associate Postgraduate Dean (AD), GP Training Programme Directors (TPD), GP Tutor and GP Training Programme Manager
  • Supervising, overseeing and co-ordinating the administrative requirements associated with delivering the GP Training Programme, post graduate medical education plus post CCT GP and Practice Nurse education and continuing professional development (CPD) through the Swindon GP Education Trust
  • Assist in the day to day operational running of the Academy including reception cover when needed
  • To understand and oversee the administration of GP Medical Education delivered by the Academy and across primary care
  • Support the GP Training Programme Manager to deliver the GP Training Programme and all GP Post Graduate Medical, post CCT and PN education
  • Using analysis of relevant data to produce reports for NHSEWTE, School of Primary Care (SoPC), Swindon GP Education Trust (SET) and, on behalf of SET, the Charity Commission
  • To work within relevant policies and procedures and, where appropriate, to suggest changes and improvements to practices and protocols within the Medical and GP Education Department
  • Evaluation of mandatory teaching programmes for GP trainee doctors, CPD for post CCT GPs and Practice Nurses
  • With the relevant TPD and the GP Training Programme Manager, responsibility for the planning and coordination of the training placements for GP trainees across their three years of training

Requirements:

  • Good level of education. 4 GCSEs or equivalent including English language
  • Diploma Level qualification in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint & Outlook
  • Relevant experience of administrative or PA/Secretarial post
  • Experience of working in a busy environment
  • Experience of team working
