Senior GIS Practitioner / Geospatial Lead | Auckland Shape the future of geospatial within a growing multidisciplinary consultancy. This is not a replacement role. It's an investment. A well-established consultancy spanning surveying, civil engineering, planning, and land development is continuing to strengthen its geospatial capability and is looking for a Senior GIS Practitioner / Geospatial Lead to help drive the next phase of growth. With more than 100 professionals across New Zealand, this is a business with genuine scale, a diverse client base, and a strong reputation for delivering complex land and infrastructure projects. From large-scale greenfield developments through to critical infrastructure initiatives, they are already doing the work. The opportunity now is to elevate the geospatial capability that supports smarter decision-making across the business. The calibre of this opportunity is reflected in the people it attracts. One recent addition to the team made the move after more than two decades in the industry because they recognised both the strong foundations already in place and the ambition to take geospatial further. Based in Auckland, you'll work closely with nationally distributed teams across surveying, engineering, planning, and project delivery to provide practical spatial solutions that create better outcomes for clients and communities. Why You'll Love It This is an opportunity to do more than maintain existing systems. You'll have the chance to influence how GIS is applied across a growing consultancy, contribute to the direction of the capability, and work on projects that have a visible impact on the built environment. Expect variety, autonomy, and meaningful collaboration. Projects span greenfield subdivisions, residential developments, infrastructure delivery, and land development initiatives. You'll partner with technical specialists across disciplines rather than operating in isolation. The culture is refreshingly down to earth and genuinely people-focused. Flexible working arrangements are supported, employees receive wellbeing benefit, and the entire business comes together annually for a team away weekend. Professional development is encouraged, and with more than 100 technical professionals around you, there is no shortage of opportunities to learn from others, contribute, and mentor the next generation.
