Job Description

Sr. Geotechnical Engineer, Jakarta based.

Job Responsibility

  • Take a leading role in the geotechnical engineering and analysis of projects in the design office
  • Responsible for development of the new team for civil/marine/offshore foundation designs/assessments
  • Assisting and preparation of technical and commercial proposals for relevant enquiries
  • Preparation of specification, method statements, design coordination, coordination with clients/subcontractors
  • Coordinate and liaise with a team of engineers. Liaise with other disciplines, draftsmen for preparation of drawings for the design and analysis performed.
  • QC checks of engineering deliverables
  • Attend meetings, co-ordinate with HO/clients for successful completion of projects
  • Reporting to Division Manager
  • Ready to travel, attend site visits and surveys
  • Expected types of jobs include design and assessment of foundation/geotechnical aspects related to offshore jacket platforms, marine jetties, quaysides, jackup leg penetration assessments, subsea pipelines etc.

Requirements

  • Well versed in design of onshore/offshore/marine structures, shallow and deep foundations, analyses, related engineering assessments, calculations, procedures
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of geotechnical investigations, testings, review of Factual/Interpretative/Design reports
  • Working knowledge in foundation designs and assessments for offshore, jetty, quayside structures, different types of piled foundations (axially loaded, laterally loaded, short/long pile etc.), pile driveability, jackup leg penetration analysis, leg extraction analysis, generation of soil curves (p-y, t-z, q-z), settlement analysis, liquefaction analysis, ground improvements, upheaval buckling, on-bottom stability, trenchability etc.
  • Knowledge in relevant computer software pertaining to geotechnical design and analysis
  • Familiarity with industry standards and design codes.
  • Knowledge in relevant softwares like Plaxis, LPile, OPile, GRL Weap
