Senior Geologist (Wales & South)\nReporting to the Regional Geology Manager, you will be responsible for providing geological support and advice to our aggregates business across operational quarries.\nKey Responsibilities\nEnsuring compliance with the Quarries Regulations 1999\nUsing 3D modelling to prepare earthworks designs and quarry development plans that drive safe and efficient mineral extraction.\nConduct regular geotechnical audits at operational quarries, identifying risks and opportunities to embed best practice across the business.\nContribute to the company’s mineral replenishment strategy, from desk-based strategic searches through to the design, costing and management of site investigation projects and mineral resource assessments in accordance with the company reporting code.\nEffective management of subcontractors engaged to deliver surveys, studies and reports.\nSkills, Knowledge & Expertise\nQualifications\nHonours degree in Geology or a Geology-related subject\nSkills/Knowledge\nComputer literate with working knowledge of MS Office and geological modelling software (e.g. LSS), along with an aptitude for GIS platforms.\nExperience in various drilling techniques and management of drilling contractors\nAbility to log samples to BS5930 standard.\nGeologically minded and able to link observations seen in the field to practical business needs.\nPrior geotechnical experience is not essential but would be a distinct advantage.\nConfident presenter and comfortable challenging the norm.\nYou will need to thrive in fast-paced environments where the ability to think on your feet and make timely decisions is crucial.
