Job Description

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Senior General Ledger Accountant.

Job Responsibility

  • Analyze complex accounting processes, transactions and account reconciliations during the month-end accounting close cycle
  • Assist the General Ledger Manager and leadership team to develop, implement and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures
  • Assist in preparing monthly internal and external reporting deliverables including providing monthly fluctuation analysis and commentary to finance leadership team for relevant balance sheet accounts
  • Support the annual financial statement audit process performed by the external independent auditors
  • Participate in special projects, ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by management
  • Identify areas for process improvements, including system enhancements
  • Establish and maintain strong business partnerships with key counterparts in accounting, project control, billing, payroll, FP&A and other functions

Requirements

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum 5 Years of Experience
  • Experience with General Ledger functions and month/year-end close and audits
  • Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills (especially Excel)
  • Thorough knowledge of basic accounting principles (GAAP experience preferred)

Nice to have

  • Ability to work collaboratively through complex scenarios
  • Experience performing General Ledger and Project Ledger functions for a US Government contractor in Costpoint
  • Attention to detail and critical thinking to reconcile accounts and subledgers
