Job Description

As a Senior General Ledger Accountant, you will be part of a large, international GL team responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, tax compliance, and month‑end close activities across the European region. The role offers exposure to audits, cross‑border projects, and continuous process improvements in a dynamic finance environment.

Job Responsibility

  • VAT Preparation & Submission: Control and prepare VAT, Intrastat and Sales List Reporting, submission of Vat Returns, Intrastat declarations and related compliance
  • Reconciliation & Compliance: Reconcile VAT accounts, ensuring the accuracy of VAT coding on invoices, and maintaining compliance with local tax authority guidelines. Prepare VAT to GL, CIT & other complex balance sheet reconciliations
  • Internal Reporting: Prepare and be responsible for all necessary internal reporting schedules required within Europe and to US head office on a monthly & quarterly basis
  • CIT: Facilities CIT reporting packages
  • SOX: Carries out relevant Sarbanes Oxley controls
  • Statutory accounting and corporation tax work & the related reconciliations
  • Audit Support: Liaising with tax authorities and assisting with VAT audits and inquiries
  • Project work: e-Invoicing, European consolidation & other projects
  • Provide support and assistance to the Accounting Manager on ad-hoc tasks
  • Involvement with developing new/efficient processes/procedures within the accounting team
  • Identify process problems and propose improvements or course of action. Research accounting literature
  • Support other accountants within the team on a variety of tasks to meet the total needs of the finance department

Requirements

  • Strong experience with VAT and CIT (Corporate income taxes) reporting within EU region, all-around accounting & complex balance sheet reconciliations
  • Very good knowledge of general accounting and reporting processes, including IFRS compliance
  • Fluent English & working German (B2-C1) language skills
  • Experience with financial analyses, accrued, prepaid taxes, journal entries, VAT & CIT balance sheet reconciliations, statutory accounts
  • Advanced Excel and data manipulation skills
  • Results-driven person
  • Ability to work under pressure, with high volume of transactions, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize tasks
