Job Description

The Senior GCP Data Architect owns the end-to-end data architecture and solution design for the Private Bank KYC / digital onboarding and regulatory reporting platform on GCP, ensuring it is scalable, secure and compliant with banking regulations.

Job Responsibility

  • Define the target data architecture on GCP to support KYC, onboarding and regulatory/management reporting for Private Bank and International Private Bank
  • Lead design of data pipelines and orchestration using Cloud Composer, Dataflow, Dataform and integration with on-prem sources (e.g., core banking, KYC systems)
  • Design and optimize BigQuery data models and warehouses for analytics and regulatory dashboards with clear SLAs and performance targets
  • Establish and enforce data governance and security standards (classification, access control, encryption, lineage, data quality) aligned with banking and KYC regulations
  • Own and maintain solution and architecture documentation (diagrams, data flows, integration patterns) in Confluence and related tooling
  • Partner with security, risk and compliance to embed privacy-by-design and strong controls into the platform
  • Identify, shape and guide AI/ML use cases (e.g., risk scoring, anomaly detection, document classification) using Vertex AI and ML tooling
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring for data engineers and developers
  • review designs, code and implementation for alignment with architecture
  • Support SIT, UAT and production readiness for data and integration topics
  • act as escalation point for complex incidents

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 8 years in data engineering / architecture, with several years specifically on GCP in banking or financial services
  • Strong track record of owning architecture for critical, regulatory-sensitive platforms (KYC, AML, onboarding, risk, or regulatory reporting)
  • Recognized as a go-to expert for GCP data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Composer, Dataform) and data governance topics
  • Able to challenge and influence senior stakeholders (Lead Architect, CIO area, Risk/Compliance) with clear, structured arguments
