Job Description:

You will join our multi-disciplinary SEO team in Amsterdam as a full stack developer in a hybrid working setup, reporting to the Group Engineering Manager. You will focus on the buyer's experience when they come to our platforms and optimize the pages of our website for SEO. We take a data-driven, experimental, and Agile approach, using neural networks for personalized content, using daily multiple-rollouts, A/B testing, and insights-driven feature development.

Job Responsibility:

  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code using industry best practices
  • Help to improve work in all areas: coding, processes, testing, tools, collaboration
  • Mentor junior and mid-level developers
  • Focus on the buyer's experience when they come to our platforms and optimize the pages of our website for SEO

Requirements:

  • At least 6+ years of full-time employment on large and distributed systems
  • Strong experience with JVM languages (Java, Kotlin, Scala preferred) and building event-driven microservices and distributed systems
  • Solid experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React (Hooks, SSR)
  • Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/CSS Modules), and responsive design
  • Backend experience with Node.js / Express.js or similar server-side frameworks
  • Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and running services on AWS or GCP
  • Familiarity with designing and consuming REST APIs
  • Current resident of the Netherlands and legally able to work here

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with core SEO principles and best practices
  • Experience with Kafka, ElasticSearch, RabbitMQ, and Terraform
  • Familiarity with observability tools
  • A user-first approach to development, thinking critically about how features will be used in real-world scenarios
