As a member of the Data Browsing Team at Sentry, you’ll join the group responsible for the continued growth of Sentry’s core data browsing products: Logs, Metrics, Dashboards, Tracing, Profiling and Replays. The Data Browsing team is focused on providing powerful views into all application telemetry with the goal of giving users a clear debugging workflow from problem identification through to remediation. A Frontend Engineer on the Data Browsing Team merges strong technical engineering skills with an eye for the beautiful, and an intuition for pleasant user experiences. You’ll collaborate with other designers, engineers and product folks to create and implement compelling user experiences within Sentry. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for the overall quality of the team’s frontend codebase, ensuring performance, stability and long term maintainability.
Job Responsibility:
Develop an understanding of the entire Sentry product and contribute to changes across the codebase
Work closely with Product Management, Design and Engineering Leadership to design, implement and ship new features, with a focus on creating beautiful, intuitive and performant user experiences
Raise technical expertise within the organization through collaboration, mentorship, pairing and design reviews
Build and maintain features for Explore, Dashboards, Session Replays, Profiling, Logs and adjacent product areas using React, TypeScript, and occasionally Python and Django
Requirements:
6+ years professional engineering experience
6+ years of experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript and React, or similar frameworks
Experience implementing and refining enjoyable user experiences within complex application workflows
Experience mentoring and collaborating with other engineers on large, impactful projects
Nice to have:
Experience with Python and Django, or similar is a plus
