As a Forward Deployed Software Engineer (FDE) at Vanta, you’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, product, and customer success. You’ll work directly with customers to understand their needs, extend Vanta’s product and platform to solve real problems, and ensure successful adoption. You’ll support unique customer requirements across integrations, data transformations, and reporting outcomes — combining strong software and systems engineering fundamentals with empathy for customer challenges and the ability to move quickly from concept to solution.
Job Responsibility:
Collaborate directly with customers to understand their technical goals and translate them into actionable solutions
Design and implement integrations, data transformations, and reporting workflows that extend Vanta’s platform
Work hands-on across the stack — from APIs and SDKs to infrastructure configuration
Partner closely with Solution Architects and product engineering teams to align on technical requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across integrations, data pipelines, and application layers
Serve as a trusted technical advisor to customers
Contribute to Vanta’s technical and customer success culture by documenting best practices and mentoring teammates
Requirements:
5-10+ years of professional software engineering experience
Comfortable coding in one or more modern languages (e.g., TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to quickly understand unfamiliar systems and adapt products to them
Enjoy working directly with customers
Collaborate effectively with Solution Architects, product engineers, and cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel approximately 10–15% of the time
Open to using AI to amplify their skills
Nice to have:
Interest in security, compliance, or SaaS infrastructure
Prior experience in security, compliance, or SaaS infrastructure domains
