We are looking for an experienced Senior Forensic Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing complex financial data, conducting forensic investigations, and ensuring the integrity of accounting records. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in forensic accounting and a keen eye for detail.
Job Responsibility:
Perform detailed forensic analysis of financial records to identify discrepancies, fraud, or errors
Investigate and document bank transactions for a marital dispute
Investigate credit card charges and transactions to detect anomalies or unauthorized activities
Collaborate with internal teams to review and verify financial data
Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing findings and recommendations
Maintain compliance with accounting standards and legal regulations
Conduct audits and provide expert insights into financial processes
Develop and implement strategies to prevent future financial discrepancies
Utilize forensic accounting tools and techniques to analyze complex datasets
Requirements:
Proven experience in forensic accounting or a related field
Proficiency in CAM reconciliation and ledger balance sheet accounts
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify inconsistencies in financial data
Familiarity with investigating credit card charges and financial transactions
Knowledge of forensic analysis tools and methodologies
Excellent communication skills for preparing detailed reports and presenting findings
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities effectively
