Airbus Commercial Aircraft is looking for a Senior Flight Operations Engineer (f/m) to join our Customer Services Department based in Toulouse, France. The Airbus Flight Operation Support and Training Standards (STL) department is composed of approximately 170 dedicated professionals in Europe, with additional staff globally. This team, which includes pilots, simulator instructors, flight operations engineers, performance engineers, and support directors, collaborates to deliver comprehensive operational support to our Operators. The STL department provides Airline Flight Operations with all the necessary data for the pilots and airline flight operation engineers to operate safely and efficiently Airbus aircraft. We are searching for a customer-centric Senior Flight Operation Engineer to join our Flight Operations & Training Support (STL) team. The role is primarily aimed at increasing A/C Operational Reliability, your efforts will directly contribute to maximizing airline customer satisfaction. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of airline flight operations to develop and implement solutions that enhance the A/C operational availability, safety, and economic efficiency of the Airbus fleet globally. This role demands a proactive approach to customer service, turning operational challenges into opportunities for technical and procedural improvement.
Job Responsibility:
Conducting Technical studies on a set of ATA systems (with regular system turnover), especially liaising with Engineering and Support domains
Creating or modifying the Operational documentation for the use of pilots (FCOM, AFM, FCTM, MMEL/CDL, QRH) either for continuous improvement or new system embodiment
Defining normal or abnormal procedures for the flight crew in coordination with other stakeholders
Preparing supporting dossier to Airworthiness Authorities (EASA, FAA) under the supervision of a CVE/DAE to justify certified manual change (MMEL/AFM)
Studying MMEL dispatch conditions or deviations to permit the maximum flexibility for operators
Assessing safety events and technical issues to propose flight crew recommendations and alternative procedures
Using the configuration criterion of Airbus aircraft to deliver appropriate content to operators
Supporting Operators, liaising with Engineering support
Answering operator queries on technical subjects about flight operations
Planning and presenting technical subjects in web conferences
Performing presentations on Flight Operation subjects in seminars
Visiting airlines and performing observation flights to improve airline operations
Taking part of on-call standby, out of working hours, to support the Support Center/Airtac in order to deliver operational assistance and approved deviations to the MMEL
Providing NavBlue with operational expertise to develop flight operation services
Participating in the development of new tools for flight operations continuous improvement
Requirements:
Educated to a 5-year degree level in aeronautics or equivalent
Sound knowledge and understanding of aircraft systems (function, in service and architecture), or ability to quickly learn and understand (other) aircraft systems
Versatile person with proven ability to work in changing environments under time pressure
Capacity to organize and prioritize tasks in a team spirit working environment
Communication skills (written, verbal) and customer-focused personality
Language Skills: English Negotiation Level
Nice to have:
The knowledge of airline operations, or practical aviation experience, or flight operation experience is advantageous
The knowledge of creation, application, and certification process of the Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL) is advantageous
