Job Description

A competent Fire Surveyor with External Wall and FRAEW experience is required to join a leading fire engineering consultancy in the midlands. The successful fire surveyor will be required to carry out passive fire assessments, external wall assessments (EWS1 and FRAEW), site visits, ensuring compliance with legislation and UK building standards, and more. Professional development assistance, sponsorship for education, and other benefits provided.

Job Responsibility

  • Carry out passive fire assessments
  • Performance characteristics on external walls from manufacturers literature, certification, and interpretation of test reports
  • Fire Risk Appraisals
  • External wall assessments (EWS1 and FRAEW)
  • Site visits
  • Ensuring compliance with legislation and UK building standards
  • Travel around the UK with potential overnight stays
  • Strong time management and meeting deadlines
  • Assisting with fee proposals
  • Commercial astuteness

Requirements

  • Relevant degree or qualification in Building Studies, risk assessment, or similar
  • Professional membership with surveying, construction, engineering, fire safety (E.g. IFE, IFSM, AIFireE)
  • Previous experience in similar position
  • Full UK driving license
