We are currently seeking an experienced EL1 Senior Financial Reporting Advisor to join a federal government department within the healthcare sector for a 12 month contract, with potential to extend.
Job Responsibility:
Strategic Financial Advisory: Provide high-level specialist analysis and expert advice on aged care financial reporting, ensuring complex data translates into actionable insights for the sector
Framework & Data Governance: Lead the evolution of reporting standards (QFR and ACFR) by assessing change requests against established principles to maintain data integrity and relevance
Provider Support & Resource Development: Design and maintain high-quality templates, guidance materials, and technical resources that empower aged care providers to meet their reporting obligations accurately
Executive Briefing & Decision Support: Drive the preparation of sophisticated briefing materials and presentations that inform senior executive decision-making and facilitate high-level stakeholder consultations
Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary liaison between providers and key regulatory health bodies to foster collaboration and alignment across the aged care ecosystem
Project & Risk Management: Oversee the end-to-end coordination of work activities, including strategic planning, scheduling, and proactive risk mitigation to ensure all reporting milestones are met
Requirements:
Specialist technical accounting / financial reporting capability, including the ability to undertake analysis and provide advice regarding financial data and reporting matters
Strong stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide succinct and accurate technical advice
Ability to work independently under limited direction, respond flexibly to change, think critically, analyse and solve complex problems and make decisions using research and analysis, good judgement, expertise and knowledge
Demonstrates strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all tasks and documentation
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Finance, or CPA/CA qualification completed
Baseline Clearance and Australian Citizenship
