Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join a fast growing Financial Services firm in the Twin Cities. In this role, you will conduct in-depth financial analysis, prepare budgets and forecasts, and provide insights that drive strategic decision-making. This position requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes, coupled with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Job Responsibility:

Perform detailed financial analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and evaluating project costs
Prepare and analyze financial trends, expenses, and business conditions to identify and report significant variances
Develop and execute short-term and long-term financial plans, ensuring adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements
Review and reconcile monthly journal entries and financial statements to ensure accuracy
Investigate and resolve discrepancies within balance sheets and related accounts, ensuring proper follow-up
Provide actionable recommendations to management on financial procedures, controls, and strategic plans
Generate specialized financial reports and present findings through written and verbal communication formats
Assist in updating accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory standards
Offer guidance, training, and supervision to finance staff as needed
Support additional accounting tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
5+ years of experience in finance, with relevant industry experience preferred
Strong proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with additional skills in Word and PowerPoint
Experience with accounting and general ledger software
Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a high level of attention to detail
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
