At Optimizely, we're on a mission to help people unlock their digital potential... We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Finance team. In the SaaS business model, customer retention is just as critical as customer acquisition. This role is dedicated to owning the forecasting, modelling, and deep-dive analysis of our customer churn and retention metrics. You will serve as a strategic partner to our Customer Success, Data Services and GTM Ops teams, translating raw data into actionable insights. By building robust models and understanding the "why" behind customer behaviour, you will directly influence our company’s strategic planning and help drive sustainable Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) growth.
Job Responsibility:
Develop, own, and maintain complex financial models to forecast GTM Churn, Finance Churn, and GDR on a quarterly, and annual basis
Conduct quarterly variance analysis comparing actual churn and downgrade metrics against forecasts, delivering clear narratives
Analyse historical customer data using cohort analysis to identify retention trends and seasonality
Align bottom-up operational forecasts from Customer Success (e.g., at-risk accounts) with top-down financial targets
Design and automate dashboards in PowerBI tools to provide real-time visibility into MRR/ARR movements, retention health, and churn risk
Assist in the preparation of management reports and board deck slides
Collaborate with the GTM Operations and Data teams to ensure data accuracy and consistency across our CRM, billing systems, and data warehouse
Requirements:
3-5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a heavily analytical role, with direct experience in the B2B SaaS industry considered a plus
Understanding of standard SaaS metrics and mechanics, including ARR/MRR, Renewal Rate, Gross Dollar Retention (GDR), Net Dollar Retention (NDR), LTV, and CAC
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with a proven ability to build dynamic, multi-variable predictive models
Hands-on experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platforms
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to translate complex analytical findings into simple, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders
Exceptional accuracy and a rigorous approach to data validation and financial reporting
Working knowledge of SQL to extract and manipulate large datasets independently
Familiarity with standard SaaS technology stacks, including Salesforce (CRM)
