Voyages Tourism Australia offers experience-based holidays in spectacular wilderness locations, including Ayers Rock Resort in the iconic Red Centre and tourism facilities in Mossman Gorge, located in tropical Queensland. This role is located at our office in Sydney, which serves as a central hub, providing support to our operational teams based in our two locations, and requires travel time to time to Ayers Rock Resort. We are seeking an accounting professional with critical thinking & problem-solving skills, a keen eye for detail, process and deadline driver mindset to join our Finance Team as Senior Financial Accountant. This role will see you manage all aspects of the financial accounting including: regularly review of the data from the financial systems to provide timely and accurate financial results for Ayers Rock Resort. You will have previous experience in mentoring and coaching team members. Key duties: Preparing, reviewing and collaborating monthly on activities related to the finance and accounting function with additional requirements for end of financial year. Partner with business stakeholders preparing timely, accurate and insightful information for effective business management and decision making. Manage month end processes for a number of business units including journal posting, provision of financial analysis/insights and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.

Requirements

  • CA/CPA Qualified with 5+ years' experience in accounting
  • Bachelor's degree of Accounting or similar field
  • Comfortable operating in a multisystem environment
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel for data analysis, process improvement and efficiency
  • Experience within "Business Central" (BC) accounting systems, Work day, Opera, Power BI and Materials Control

A background in hotel/hospitality operations is well regarded but not essential
