Job Description

This is a hands-on financial accounting and technical compliance role for a self motivated professional who can work autonomously. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, you will operate as an individual contributor responsible for general ledger integrity, month end reporting, and audit compliance. The position focuses on core corporate financial accounting, financial statement preparation, and variance analysis. It also provides secondary exposure to new compliance frameworks, including supporting the team with the transition into mandatory Tier 1 sustainability disclosures under the new AASB S2 climate related reporting framework, alongside participating in local finance automation projects.

Job Responsibility

  • Prepare monthly financial reporting including Profit and Loss reports, Balance Sheets, and reconciliations
  • Prepare Annual Financial Statements including consolidations and Goodwill impairment testing per AASB and IFRS
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy by preparing and processing journals
  • Complete detailed Profit and Loss variance analysis and provide commentary
  • Act as technical specialist for IFRS and AASB standards
  • Coordinate data collection for AASB S2 climate disclosure framework
  • Assist with monthly review of Balance Sheet reconciliations and audit recommendations
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to meet reporting deadlines
  • Support process improvement, system upgrades, and automation using AI tools
  • Create and update financial templates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or related discipline
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Background in statutory reporting and core financial accounting
  • Strong technical proficiency in AASB and IFRS
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage modern AI tools
  • Clear communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to continuous process improvement
