Job Description

Allen Lane are currently assisting a Local Authority with the recruitment of an Interim Senior Finance Business Partner. This role will focus on High Needs and Early Years dedicated school grant funding (DSG) within a large, complex local authority.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead on DSG allocation and funding calculations
  • Review funding support for pupils and students under DSG formulas
  • Agree annual budgets and deliver monthly budget monitoring with service managers
  • Produce accurate management accounting information
  • Provide specialist financial advice to schools, academies, and special schools
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory returns (Section 251, RO forms)
  • Support special schools to close accounts in line with corporate deadlines

Requirements

  • Strong experience in local authority or schools finance
  • Knowledge of DSG, High Needs, or Early Years funding
  • Expertise in budgeting, financial planning, and stakeholder partnership
