A global alternative credit platform is seeking a Senior Finance Associate to support the financial reporting and operational oversight of one or more Business Development Companies (BDCs). This role offers significant exposure to SEC reporting, complex investment structures, and cross-functional collaboration with portfolio management, investor relations, legal, operations, and external service providers.
Job Responsibility:
Prepare and review financial reporting for BDCs, including SEC filings (10-Qs and 10-Ks)
Produce weekly performance reporting, including returns, positioning, attribution analysis, and dividend estimates
Review and reconcile NAV packages prepared by third-party administrators
Assist with the preparation of materials for BDC Boards of Directors
Partner with Investor Relations on investor presentations, earnings releases, and related communications
Perform analytical reviews of quarterly balance sheets and income statements
Coordinate closely with external auditors to support audit processes
Work with third-party providers to document and validate the effectiveness of internal controls
Partner with legal teams to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
Support capital reporting for joint venture investors
Interpret and apply complex legal and governing documents (e.g., LPAs, PPMs, IMAs), including provisions related to: Capital calls and allocations
Carried interest and distribution waterfalls
Management fees and expense limitations
Investment restrictions and compliance requirements
Collaborate closely with portfolio management teams to support investment objectives and fund constraints across multiple asset classes
Partner with deal teams to address financial reporting questions and develop solutions to evolving needs
Work with operations teams and administrators to identify issues, determine root causes, and oversee resolution and implementation of improvements
Handle frequent, complex, and time-sensitive ad hoc requests
Requirements:
2–4 years of experience in public accounting (financial services preferred) or a similarly rigorous finance environment
Prior BDC experience is a plus
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with comfort interacting across teams and with external parties
Ability to interpret and apply complex legal documentation
Detail-oriented, proactive, and ownership-driven mindset
Advanced Excel skills, including building models and templates from scratch
Creative, solutions-oriented approach to complex and ambiguous requests
Bachelor’s degree with a strong academic record required
