Serve as scientific expert for launch of new technology platform. Our client is launching a novel platform, providing integrated analysis of genomic and proteomic data for drug discovery applications. We are seeking an experienced Field Application Scientist with expertise in NGS workflows, as well as broad knowledge of protein and immunoassay based applications. As the first FAS to support this technology, you will play a critical role in the launch and success of this new platform, with huge opportunity for growth as the team expands!
Job Responsibility:
Serve as scientific expert for customers and internal teams, combining strong technical knowledge of NGS and immunoassays
Assist with method development during pre-launch, and provide advanced technical support upon commercialization
Identify and collaborate with customers in the beta testing stage
Develop hands-on proficiency with the platform, working closely with R&D and Product Development teams prior to commercialization
Capture VOC feedback internally for product and documentation improvements
Provide pre- and post-sales scientific support including product demonstrations, technical presentations and training/troubleshooting of experimental design, complex assay challenges, workflow issues and data interpretation involving both NGS and immunoassays
Create customer-facing content, including training materials, slide decks, application notes, workflow diagrams and troubleshooting resources
Represent company at scientific conferences and seminars
Train and mentor other FAS as the team expands
Travel to customer sites and conferences approximately 50% of the time
Requirements:
PhD in Genomics, Biochemistry, Immunology or related Life Science discipline (or MS with 5+ years industry bench experience)
Minimum of 3 years Field Application Scientist experience
Hands-on experience with NGS workflows, including library prep, sequencing platforms, and basic data interpretation
Technical understanding of immunoassays, assay development and antibody troubleshooting
Familiarity with bioinformatics and data visualization platforms
Demonstrated experience contributing to scientific collateral, such as application notes
Excellent communication, presentation and troubleshooting skills
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
