What you'll be doing: As a Technical Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring the production line operates safely, efficiently, and in line with all quality, food safety, and customer requirements. This is a highly skilled position that combines operational responsibility with technical compliance and line performance. Your responsibilities will include: Taking ownership of the production line and ensuring it runs efficiently throughout the shift. Completing all production and technical documentation accurately and to the required standard. Carrying out line start-up checks and ensuring all pre-production requirements have been met. Monitoring critical control points (CCPs), product quality, weights, temperatures, and specification compliance. Ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and in real time, maintaining full traceability of products. Conducting quality checks and escalating any issues that may impact product safety, legality, or quality. Supporting line changeovers and ensuring products are manufactured to the correct specification. Liaising closely with Production, Technical, QA, Engineering and Planning teams to maintain line efficiency. Identifying, investigating and resolving issues that may affect production performance or product quality. Ensuring compliance with HACCP, GMP, Food Safety, Health & Safety and site procedures at all times. Supporting audits, customer visits and continuous improvement activities where required. Monitoring line performance and proactively highlighting opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce waste. Acting as a key point of contact on the line and supporting colleagues to ensure standards are maintained. What we're looking for: This is a skilled role that requires strong attention to detail, accountability, and the ability to work confidently in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. We're looking for candidates who have: Previous experience within food manufacturing, production, technical, quality, or machine operating environments. Experience completing production documentation and working to strict procedures. A strong understanding of food safety, quality standards, HACCP and GMP. The ability to monitor and maintain compliance against customer and site requirements. Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Good computer literacy and confidence completing records and documentation. Strong communication skills and the ability to work across multiple departments. The confidence to challenge standards and escalate issues when required. A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. The ability to work independently while also contributing positively as part of a team.
