The work will involve collaborating with engineering in transitioning new systems from engineering to test-builds and mature assembly and testing techniques, looking for areas of optimization and improvement. Additionally, you’ll get to participate in manufacturing assembly and infrastructure improvements, building of test jigs, and more. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team facing an exciting challenge. You will get to work with a world-class team on a project that has real impact and will set a new mark in aviation history. You will get to enjoy a transparent, open, and inclusive work culture. This is the beginning of a team that’s growing fast. Thus, it offers substantial growth opportunities.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assembly of a large, but very lightweight aircraft
  • Fabrication of lightweight aircraft structures/components
  • Development of new assembly, integration and testing processes, and tools for an ultra-light UAV
  • Manufacturing of electronics assemblies and sub-level components (such as cable harness manufacturing and battery manufacturing of state-of-the-art high power density batteries)
  • Design and assembly of electrical and mechanical test jigs to support R&D
  • Developing and executing test procedures
  • Transitioning new designs from engineering to manufacturing

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as a composite manufacturing technician with a hands on approach
  • Hands-on experience in aircraft, robot, race car or similar system prototyping & manufacturing
  • Good systems and physics understanding
  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools
  • Experience developing process improvements and setups to improve cycle times, repeatability, and maturity
  • Good command of the English language, both oral and written

Nice to have:

  • Experience with electronics
  • Experience with mechanical prototyping (3D printing, using basic mechanical workshop equipment)
  • Experience with ultra low weight fibers/prepregs
  • Experience with welding (multi material)
  • Hands-on experience with unnamed aircraft operations/testing
  • Experience working with electronic equipment (prototype boards, harness, test setups)
  • Basic programming or data skills (C/Python/SQL/Excel)
  • Proactive, can-do attitude
  • Curiosity and passion about technology
What we offer:
  • ICEYE offers amazing relocation packages to Valencia, Spain
  • A job that matters in a dynamic Earth Observation environment with a scale-up approach
  • An independent role with a supportive and diverse work environment
  • Time for self-development, research, training, conferences, or certification schemes
  • Health insurance
  • Coffee, snacks, and sweets to accompany your daily space mission
  • Creative, inspiring and collaborative office
  • Competitive salary contingent on your experience level, and will be negotiated individually
