Senior Exploration Geoscientist – Subsurface CCI US The Team EPI SUB CCI (Competence Center International) has the accountability for delivering competence and capability for the future of our business. The competence center is the organizational home for all subsurface personnel and is responsible for ensuring sufficient capability for prioritized subsurface activity and competence development for all employees. The Position Join Exploration & Production International, USA as a senior geoscientist/interpreter within the exploration team, focused on unlocking subsurface value in the Gulf of America using state-of-the-art seismic technologies.
Job Responsibility
Lead exploration-focused subsurface evaluations across the full lifecycle, from regional screening to robust prospect maturation, drill-ready opportunity definition and post-well look-backs
Generate and mature prospects through seismic interpretation, data analysis, volumetrics, and uncertainty and risk assessment, in line with Company’s technical governance
Maximize interpretation value from advanced seismic imaging, including OBN,E FWI data sets
Integrate seismic, well, and regional datasets to de-risk prospects and define optimal well targets and drilling strategies
Deliver high-quality seismic interpretations as input to basin models, sub-regional maps and play-level understandings
Support exploration and appraisal drilling, providing real-time subsurface insights and post-well evaluations to capture and embed learnings
Contribute to portfolio high-grading and business development, assessing prospectivity, resource potential, and commercial robustness
Champion modern geophysical workflows and interpretation techniques, and act as a technical mentor within a high-performing exploration team
Requirements
A degree in Geoscience or related discipline (advanced preferred)
~15+ years’ experience, with a strong exploration track record in the Gulf of America
Deep expertise in seismic interpretation and advanced imaging technologies (OBN, FWI, RTM), particularly in structurally complex settings
Proven ability to generate, mature, and deliver exploration prospects to drilling
Experience working with operators, partners, and seismic contractors, influencing technical outcomes
Strong understanding of exploration risking, uncertainty, and value-based decision making
High technical standards, structured approach, and strong data management discipline
Excellent communication, collaboration, and mentoring capabilities
A proactive, self-driven mindset with the ability to lead technically and deliver in a fast-paced exploration environment
