We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join a premier, heavy industrial general contractor at the forefront of Canada’s energy and infrastructure sectors. In this leadership-track role, you will take full ownership of preparing, reviewing, and presenting discipline-specific estimates for multi-million and billion-dollar project proposals, with a specific focus on the Nuclear and Large-Scale Industrial markets. You will provide strategic guidance to the estimating team, ensuring the accuracy of complex deliverables while mentoring intermediate staff. Job Responsibility:
Lead the development of conceptual and detailed estimates for major industrial projects, focusing on mechanical and electrical disciplines
Review project specifications and contract documents to develop innovative construction methodologies that inform competitive bidding
Oversee quality control for the estimating team, delegating tasks and providing direct mentorship to junior and intermediate estimators
Present estimates to senior executives and external clients, leading negotiations and fostering long-term professional relationships
Champion the use of in-house software and Bluebeam to refine historical cost databases and departmental best practices
Requirements:
10–15+ years of estimating experience within heavy industrial sectors (Oil & Gas, Nuclear, Power, or Data Centres)
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent industry experience)
Strong background in self-performing work, specifically in process piping and mechanical equipment installation
Proficiency in MS Office, Bluebeam, and AutoCAD
Proven track record of managing direct reports or leading the estimating function for large-scale (Multi-Million/Billion dollar) projects
Nice to have:
experience with advanced industrial estimating software
