Lead the estimating function for a leading organisation in the marine infrastructure sector. This role combines leadership of bid teams with hands-on estimating expertise, ensuring accurate, competitive, and risk-aware cost estimates. You will also contribute to strategic pricing decisions and support continuous improvement initiatives within the estimating process.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates for large-scale marine projects, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness
Prepare accurate bid proposals and tender documents, collaborating with operations and engineering teams for project alignment
Maintain strong relationships with marine subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing quotations for compliance and competitiveness
Assist the Head of Estimating in mentoring the team, promoting collaboration across all departments
Implement best practises in estimating methodology and support continuous improvement initiatives
Work closely with various teams to provide insights on project feasibility, risk profiling, and strategic pricing decisions
Requirements:
Extensive experience in a senior estimating role within marine infrastructure or heavy civil projects
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience (preferred)
Strong numerical and analytical abilities
Exceptional attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project planning software
Familiarity with marine construction methodologies, environmental considerations, and the NEC suite of contract documents (preferred)
Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively engage with clients, suppliers, and internal teams
Nice to have:
Experience in dredging, pile driving, or similar marine projects
