Our client is a leading Tier 1 national civil contractor with a reputation for delivering high-performing, large-scale infrastructure projects across Australia. Due to an expanding project pipeline in South Australia, they are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join their established Adelaide team. This is an opportunity to step into a stable, well-resourced business with a practical, project-first culture. What’s on offer: Full time permanent position based in Wayville. $160-200k +Super. A national footprint with a massive pipeline of local work. The Projects: You will lead and contribute to tenders for medium to large-scale projects valued from $50m to upwards of $100m, spanning: DIT road upgrades, highways and major earthworks. SA Water infrastructure and utility networks. Renewable energy civil works (substations, wind/solar). Major urban subdivisions and bulk earthworks.
Job Responsibility
Lead first-principles estimating for major civil tenders from initial expression of interest to final submission
Review project scopes, drawings, and specifications to identify risks and value-engineering opportunities
Manage and close out subcontractor and supplier quotes
Develop robust construction methodologies and staging plans alongside project teams
Present estimates and tender strategies to upper management during review meetings
Requirements
Minimum 10 years of civil estimating experience
Direct experience and a thorough understanding of local authority specifications, specifically DIT and SA Water
Strong proficiency in first-principles estimating using industry-standard software
A proven track record of pricing and winning civil infrastructure projects valued at $25m and above
Clear, direct communication skills with the ability to build rapport with internal teams and external stakeholders
