Job Description:

We are currently looking for an experienced Senior Estimator Insurance Building to join our high performing team in Melbourne. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Construction & Estimating, this role will be responsible for providing estimating support to both the Operations & Major Loss Managers. Attending sites, working closely with Clients and Insureds, and producing cost estimates with the objective of being market competitive and supporting the growth of our business.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide estimating support to Operations & Major Loss Managers
  • Assist with training and mentoring of estimating team
  • Attend site and complete detailed assessments on domestic and commercial buildings inclusive of minor to major loss
  • Undertake initial inspections, provide detailed causation reports and cost estimates, utilising company estimating tools and rate cards
  • Oversee Sales / Estimator budget including planning, forecasting and timelines
  • Liaise closely with loss adjuster and insurers, monitoring approval rates
  • Strategic review wins & losses with senior management
  • Managing client expectations, providing periodic updates, ensuring the best customer experience by building strong customer relationships through communication
  • Build new & leverage existing relationships with key personnel in the insurance industry

Requirements:

  • 5 years plus experience in Insurance Estimating including large loss claims
  • Good computer literacy
  • Very strong communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • A commitment to safety with sound knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Experience in negotiation, facilitating and collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • A trade preferably carpentry background
