We are currently seeking a senior Wills & Estates Lawyer to join a respected and growing Ottawa-based full-service law firm. Job Responsibility
Handle a broad range of matters including estate planning, estate administration, succession planning, trust and capacity matters, and related advisory work
Manage client relationships, overseeing files independently, and contributing to the continued growth and mentorship of the department
Requirements
10+ years of experience in wills & estates law, including estate administration and succession planning
Existing client base and portable practice preferred
Strong experience with trusts, capacity matters, and probate administration
Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and maintain an independent practice
Leadership and mentorship capabilities with interest in long-term departmental growth
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to contribute positively to a collegial firm culture
Experience in disability planning, tax, estate litigation, or business law considered strong assets
Ability to speak and draft in French considered a strong asset, though not mandatory
Interest in long-term partnership and succession planning opportunities
Nice to have
