Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Environmental Planner/ Scientist to join our growing Environmental Services team. In this role, you will contribute to planning approvals, environmental assessments, and advisory services across a range of sectors including water, transport and urban development. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical work, support client relationships, manage environmental projects, identify risks and opportunities, and help shape better environmental outcomes for communities. This role offers strong variety, professional growth, and the opportunity to work on projects that genuinely make a difference.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead delivery of environmental planning and approval scopes for multifaceted projects including water infrastructure, transport, urban development and industrial projects
  • Prepare and review Environmental Planning and Approvals Assessments, planning pathway assessments, feasibility studies and due diligence reports to support early project decision making
  • Contribute to environmental risk assessments and construction phase documentation including preparation and review of Construction Environmental Management Plans
  • Lead planning permit applications, referral and other approval applications including preparation of supporting reports, coordination of technical inputs, management of specialist studies and liaison with responsible and referral authorities
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs from ecology, heritage, contamination, engineering and sustainability teams to deliver integrated planning and approvals outcomes

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in planning, urban and regional planning, environmental science, environmental management or a related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years working experience delivering environmental planning and approvals projects within a consulting or government environment
  • Strong working knowledge of the Victorian Planning Scheme and Victorian environmental approvals framework
  • Strong statutory interpretation and risk based advisory skills
  • Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with senior clients and regulators
