Job Description:

As Senior Environmental Advisor – Construction Projects, you will provide dedicated environmental leadership throughout the construction phase of MinRes mining and infrastructure developments. Acting as a vital link between project approvals and on-ground activity, you’ll ensure compliance with environmental obligations, embed the MinRes Environmental Management System (EMS) into planning and execution, and manage a seamless transition to operations. Navigating the unique challenges of construction including rapid land disturbance, contractor density, and implementation of new environmental baselines and controls you’ll drive best practice and continuous environmental stewardship across all project stages. This role will report directly to our Lead - Environmental Compliance, and you will be on a regular 8/6 roster, FIFO from Perth.

Job Responsibility:

  • Provide advice to site teams and management teams regarding compliance and environmental management
  • Translate environmental approval conditions (Ministerial Statements, Part V licences, clearing permits, EPBC conditions, Mining Act commitments) into actionable construction requirements, including registers, schedules, and hold points
  • Promote environmental awareness and good environmental practices in all aspects of work
  • Ensure fauna management protocols are implemented during construction, including fauna spotting, trapping, and relocation during clearing activities
  • Ensure environmental monitoring is compliant with approvals, that data is stored correctly, and results are compared to approval triggers and limits
  • Follow MinRes’ Land Activity Permitting process, including review of permits, verification of on-ground compliance with conditions, and timely close-out

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or equivalent
  • Extensive Environmental Management experience
  • Demonstrated experience mining or major resource project experience, with demonstrated construction-phase experience
  • Strong working knowledge of WA environmental legislation and approval processes
  • Certification or experience with environmental compliance auditing
  • Fauna handling licence (WA – DBCA) or willingness to obtain
  • Team leadership and mentoring experience
  • Current C Class manual driver’s licence
  • First Aid certificate
