We are currently seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to join our Environmental Team at Breedon. This role is being offered on a hybrid basis, ideally suitable candidate based within the North of England or Scotland. Regular travel across sites nationally required - you'll need to be comfortable spending time traveling. To support your travelling, this role comes with a Company Car, or Car Allowance. We're seeking a Senior Environmental Advisor to take ownership of environmental performance across approximately 150 sites across the North of England and Scotland, covering the full spectrum of waste management, water quality, and air emissions compliance. This isn't a box-ticking role. You'll be the environmental conscience and champion for our operations, working with site managers, operations teams, and operational leadership to drive meaningful improvements while ensuring we stay ahead of regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Take ownership of environmental performance across approximately 150 sites across the North of England and Scotland, covering waste management, water quality, and air emissions compliance

~10 years in an environmental advisory, compliance, or management role
Solid understanding of waste regulations (Duty of Care, Waste Framework Directive, hazardous waste)
Hands-on experience with water quality monitoring and discharge consents

Experience working across multiple sites or supporting diverse operations
Track record of building credibility with operational teams who may not naturally prioritize environmental issues
Nice to have:
Experience working in Scotland or strong understanding of SEPA's approach and Scottish regulatory landscape

Someone who gets energized by solving complex problems rather than frustrated by them
Ability to communicate technical environmental issues to non-technical audiences
