Job Description

TradingView is looking for a Team Lead to join and guide a team of 5 people. The Hope Team is responsible for backend support and the development of our web platform, including page generation, API development, security, user data management, and notifications.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead the adoption of backend development best practices, including code reviews, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure scalability, reliability, and security of backend services
  • Define technical standards and architectural approaches for building maintainable and robust systems with Python
  • Drive improvements in system architecture, infrastructure, and development workflows
  • Maintain high code quality and performance
  • Plan and oversee backend development tasks, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery
  • Collaborate with frontend developers, designers, analysts, and product managers
  • Break down, estimate, and track tasks
  • Identify risks early and create mitigation strategies
  • Ensure transparency of progress and challenges for both the team and stakeholders
  • Build and develop a strong backend engineering team
  • Design and manage onboarding and mentoring processes for new team members
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1s to support growth and motivation
  • Provide training and career development opportunities to enhance skills and competencies

Requirements

  • Strong experience in Python development (FastAPI, Django, or similar frameworks)
  • Understanding of distributed systems, databases, and API design
  • Knowledge of performance optimization and security best practices
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
  • Basic understanding of frontend technologies to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Proven experience managing and mentoring a team of developers
  • Strong skills in task prioritization, planning, and expectation management
  • Excellent communication skills to align technical and business goals
  • Ability to make sound decisions in ambiguous situations
  • 5+ years of backend development experience with Python, including 2+ years in a lead or managerial role
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects from concept to release
