Job Description:

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead its Private Cloud & Flex Solutions team in Galway. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will oversee a team of engineers dedicated to delivering innovative cloud and on-premises enterprise solutions and services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Lead and inspire engineering teams to innovate and collaborate
  • Manage design, architecture, integration, release, lifecycle and Day 2 proactive support of complex systems for compatibility, performance, and reliability
  • Collaborate across teams to align with Private Cloud Solutions strategies and organizational objectives
  • Implement monitoring systems to ensure scalability, reliability, and security of private cloud solutions
  • Enforce production readiness standards and ensure compliance with internal and industry security regulations
  • Partner with business stakeholders, technical leaders, and development teams to address integration challenges and propose solutions for private cloud implementation
  • Implement and sustain Agile practices, process workflows, and documentation frameworks for systems integration, utilizing tools like Jira and Aha! for effective project tracking and task management
  • Build and develop high-performing teams by fostering innovation, accountability, and professional growth
  • Oversee direct reports, including hiring, performance management, and career development
  • Enhance Day-1 through Day-N processes for faster deployment outcomes in collaboration with HPE Services partners
  • Ensure customer deployments meet agreed SLAs by closely aligning engineering and partner support teams
  • Promote the adoption of emerging technologies, such as AI, to improve processes and delivery

Requirements:

  • Proven leadership experience in systems integration, particularly in private cloud solutions
  • Expertise in systems engineering, including storage, compute, networking, virtualization, and distributed systems
  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, microservices, and cloud-native architectures
  • Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure monitoring tools
  • Track record in managing complex technical projects and cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, including Scrum and SAFe frameworks
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • advanced degree preferred
  • Typically, 10+ years of related work experience, including 5+ years of people management
