Job Description

Mixpanel is an event analytics platform. The query team is responsible for building & maintaining the next generation of Mixpanel’s query infrastructure. As an engineering manager, you would help scale the team’s impact with hiring, culture and focus. You’ll be responsible for streamlining execution and prioritization based on a clear understanding of our technical systems and associated business goals.

Requirements

  • Prior experience building, maintaining & scaling reliable, high-volume distributed systems
  • Can reason about ambiguous problems from first principles and propose creative solutions
  • Strong CS fundamentals (e.g., data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems)
  • Contributes to attracting and retaining engineers through technical leadership, collaboration, and/or enablement
  • Track record of mentoring and growing engineers who work with you

Nice to have

  • Prior engineering management experience, especially on teams that build and operate high volume, stateful distributed systems in SaaS environments
  • Prior Experience with database technologies, including their internal design and implementation
  • Prior Experience with multi-tenant systems, with focus on reliability, performance, isolation and security
