Citi’s Banking As A Service (BaaS) Technology (a line of business within Payments under Services Technology) is looking to expand its team and we are looking for highly motivated and experienced Senior Engineering Manager - Payments Technology to lead and grow a team of talented software engineers. In this role, you will be responsible for the overall technical direction, execution, and delivery of critical software projects. You will play a key role in shaping our engineering culture, driving innovation, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

Job Responsibility:

  • Manage multiple teams of professionals to accomplish established goals and conduct personnel duties for team (e.g. performance evaluations, hiring and disciplinary actions)
  • Provide strategic influence and exercise control over resources, budget management and planning while monitoring end results
  • Utilize in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within own area and basic knowledge of other areas to resolve issues
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and contribute to defining standards
  • Integrate in-depth knowledge of applications development with overall technology function to achieve established goals
  • Provide evaluative judgement based on analysis of facts in complicated, unique, and dynamic situations including drawing from internal and external sources
  • Influence and negotiate with senior leaders across functions, as well as communicate with external parties as necessary
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Master's degree preferred
  • 15+ years of experience in software development
  • 5+ years of experience in a management or leadership role, leading software engineering teams
  • Proven track record of successfully delivering complex software projects
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Proficiency in programing language – Java
  • Experience with database systems – ORASS
  • Preferred experience with cloud platforms – AWS, Azure, etc
  • Strong knowledge of repository and version control systems – Bitbucket, Git
  • Knowledge of Devops practices and tools
  • Experience in using SDLC management tools - JIRA
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
