Senior Engineering Manager, AV Labs

Uber is launching AV Labs to accelerate the autonomous technology ecosystem. We're building out a high-velocity team of multi-disciplinary experts to turn real-world operations into high-quality data for our autonomous partners. This team is focused on the hardest problem in AV today: unlocking real-world, long-tail driving data. Autonomy is now a data race—and Uber has an edge: We collect rare, real-world driving data at a scale and capital efficiency no one else can match. As a Sr. Manager of Engineering, you will lead a highly specialized team of machine learning engineers and applied researchers focused on AI models and behavioral causality. You will guide the execution and development of state-of-the-art foundation models that parse complex urban edge cases, driving the technical roadmap to add rich semantics to our massive driving data. By leading the charge on understanding the "why" behind driving decisions, your team will power the L4 data and evaluation engine that serves as the ultimate data mining platform for our autonomous partners.
