Job Description

At Monarch, AI is the engine powering intelligent, personalized financial experiences for our users. We're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our AI and AI Platform teams. These two groups are responsible for building the ML and GenAI capabilities that help hundreds of thousands of users understand and manage their money. This is a player-coach role where technical depth matters. You'll lead a team of senior engineers (Principals, Staff, and Senior levels) working on challenging problems across the AI stack, from user-facing intelligent features to the underlying platform that makes them reliable and cost-effective.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in software engineering
  • at least 3 years building and operating production ML/AI systems
  • 2+ years of engineering management experience, leading teams of senior engineers on complex technical projects
  • technical depth in AI/ML
  • experience with LLMs and GenAI in production
  • a track record of building healthy engineering teams
  • strong product intuition
  • excellent communication skills
