Senior Engineer | Operations & Maintenance Planning. Immediate Start | Contract until 31 July 2026 | $58 p/h + Super. Are you a seasoned Engineer looking to influence the performance of massive utility networks? We are seeking a Senior Engineer to join a major infrastructure team in Fortitude Valley. You will lead technical strategies to ensure critical water and wastewater assets are optimized, safe, and cost-effective.

Job Responsibility

  • Support the development of Master Plans and manage project streams within the organization’s change management program
  • Ensure the operational performance of 9,500km water and 9,700km wastewater networks
  • Develop engineering solutions and validation processes that conform to regulatory standards
  • Act independently to guide junior staff in engineering builds and technical operations support
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of proven technical experience in operational, maintenance, or reliability engineering
  • Previous experience with Water and Sewer Networks is highly desirable
  • Hydraulic Modelling skills are preferred for this role
  • Bachelor of Engineering and a current Driver's License
  • An action-oriented approach with the ability to achieve results under tough circumstances

  • Drive annual wet-season preparedness plans, including pre-wet works, contingency measures, and post-event reviews
  • Provide operational support to site teams, including performance issues, flood protection reviews, inspections, audits, and defect resolution
  • Work closely with Hydrogeology, Mine Planning, and Approvals teams to ensure integrated surface water outcomes
