Senior Engineer - Metallurgy is responsible for effectively supervising employees in a designated area to ensure a safe work environment, meet production deadlines, and attain established goals in the areas of production, quality, delivery, and cost. Responsible for successful running of all furnaces, trouble shooting and ensure product quality as per standard. Also to support in manufacturing activities, related to heat treatment; like in development of new HT process, proving new parts and installation of new equipment related to heat treatment. To prepare and communicate technical reports to Internal customers on Heat Treatment Processes / System Improvements with the help of leveraging our global strength.
Job Responsibility

Successful running of all furnaces, trouble shooting and ensure product quality
Support in manufacturing activities related to heat treatment
Prepare and communicate technical reports to Internal customers
Effective operation & monitoring of furnaces with QCD approach
Ensure production plan adherence and no stoppage of line
Production planning for furnaces, polishing & Shot peening
Meet monthly department goals on targets
Microstructure analysis, metallurgical inspection and other metallurgical testing, failure analysis
Support in manufacturing activities related to new chain parts development
Support in establishing and validating De burring & polishing process
Co-ordinate with CFT team for continual improvement
Involvement in new product development metallurgy
Establish best practices in heat treatment and polishing
Support maintenance activities in heat treatment and polishing machines
Trouble shooting and decision making on emergency situations
Ensure to follow and implement CQI-9 and other customer requirements
Requirements

Microstructure analysis, metallurgical inspection and other metallurgical testing, material / metallurgical analysis of failed parts (Failure Analysis)
Support in manufacturing activities related to new chain parts development, establishing new process, installation of new equipment
Support in establishing and validating De burring & polishing process for various chain parts
Co-ordinate with CFT team and work towards continual improvement on quality and productivity
Involvement in new product development metallurgy
Establish best practices in heat treatment and polishing from other Plants
Support maintenance activities in heat treatment and polishing machines
Trouble shooting and decision making on emergency situations for all furnaces and related equipment
Ensure to follow and implement CQI-9 and other customer requirements
