The Global Projects Centre East is Subsea 7's centre of excellence for the execution of its projects. Within GPC Engineering Function, Design & Analysis Group, "Risers, Installation Analyses and Umbilical and EIC" (RIAU & EIC) department is currently looking for Senior Engineer for Middle East Project to support detail engineering activities for topside projects, including brownfield modifications. The candidate will supervise an appointed engineering subcontractor along with Lead Engineer and is responsible for executing detailed engineering as per the technical scope of work. The role requires a focus on design activities, ensuring alignment with Client and Subsea7 standards and procedures.
Job Responsibility
Facilitate communication with Subcontractor and report details to Topside Package Lead/ Lead Engineer
Coordinate with other discipline like mechanical, piping, hook up to meet alignment for required engineering works
Review the subcontractor’s execution of the technical scope of work, including engineering deliverables, to ensure compliance with project requirements and standards
Plan, detail, and review technical documentation relating to topside systems with focus on E&IC and telecommunication systems
Confirm the accuracy and completeness of project milestones, such as the issuance of IFC drawings, technical reviews, and input for overall Engineering, Readiness & Operational Reviews
Understand project/client expectations and gather applicable past lessons learnt
Support investigation and resolution of technical issues encountered during the design and execution phases
Conduct regular progress reviews and provide feedback to maintain timelines, quality, and cost-efficiency ensuring timely submission of engineering deliverables, including (but not limited) site survey reports, Smart 3D models, detailed design documents, and material selection reports
Provide specialist skills, integrity, and knowledge in key areas of discipline engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements, and current good engineering practices
Attend project review meetings, vendor meetings and engineering meetings organised by other disciplines
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed
Recognize and accept HSE Roles & Responsibilities as per Subsea 7’s HSE Role and Responsibility matrix
Support various Internal Engineering Improvements initiatives such as: Develop tools, guidelines, and templates
Develop Training Material and Supervise Trainees and Junior members of the team
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
More than 12 years of relevant experience in detailed engineering for offshore oil and gas brownfield modifications for Aramco Projects
In-depth knowledge of Saudi Aramco standards (SAES, SAEP), industry codes, and engineering best practices
Experience in Saudi Aramco projects, MSEARs and design requirements
Experience in offshore projects – green & brown field
Experience with LV, MV and HV electrical equipment and distribution system including the equipment sizing calculations
Familiarize with Power system automation and integration with third party systems
Experience in ETAP studies (load flow, short circuit, relay coordination and harmonic study etc.)
Experience in electrical protection system
Experience in synchronization with grid and generators
Exposure to Saudi Aramco design review and familiarization with various stakeholders
Exposure to HAZID, HAZOP and safety studies
Experience in SPEL, 3D modelling, constructability review
Experience in MTO for electrical and bulk items
Experience in grounding design for offshore platforms
Experience in procurement engineering (MR/RFQ, TBE and PR etc.)
