Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced SUSE Rancher Expert to manage container orchestration and Kubernetes infrastructure using Rancher. This role includes designing and implementing solutions, optimizing environments, managing security, and providing training and documentation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain Rancher to manage Kubernetes clusters
  • Configure and manage multi-cluster environments, ensuring high availability and efficient resource utilization
  • Automate the deployment of Kubernetes clusters and associated resources using Rancher
  • Ensure integration of Rancher with existing CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and logging systems
  • Oversee Kubernetes cluster lifecycle management, including creation, scaling, upgrades, and decommissioning
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, and workloads
  • Implement and manage best practices for security, network policies, storage, and RBAC within the Rancher/Kubernetes ecosystem
  • Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and security teams to align infrastructure with application requirements
  • Mentor and guide other team members on Rancher and Kubernetes best practices
  • Help establish and maintain governance policies for Kubernetes environments in Rancher
  • Continuously optimize the Rancher and Kubernetes environment for performance, cost efficiency, and scalability
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, failures, and issues in the cluster environment
  • Implement monitoring and alerting strategies to ensure the availability and health of all systems
  • Ensure the security of the Kubernetes environment and Rancher platform by implementing robust security controls (e.g., network policies, role-based access control, image scanning)
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and security threats affecting Kubernetes environments
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for infrastructure, configurations, and operational procedures
  • Provide training to internal teams on Kubernetes and Rancher usage, administration, and troubleshooting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience working with Kubernetes, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience with SUSE Rancher
  • Strong expertise in deploying, configuring, and managing Kubernetes clusters (with Rancher as the management layer)
  • Proficiency with containerization tools such as Docker
  • In-depth knowledge of container orchestration and microservices architecture
  • Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes, Helm, and Rancher
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and frameworks (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, CircleCI)
  • Proficient in scripting and automation (Bash, Python, etc.)
  • Knowledge of container security practices and tools (e.g., Aqua, Twistlock, Clair)
  • Experience with logging and monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with experience working in cross-functional teams
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Experience with logging and monitoring systems (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
