This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll set technical direction, ensure quality delivery and support the personal and professional growth of our engineers. You’ll spend around 80% of your time contributing directly to projects and 20% leading and supporting the wider engineering team through technical guidance, collaboration, and mentorship. As Technical Lead you will combine strong technical skills with the ability to guide and inspire others and ensure projects are delivered to a high standard while also creating a culture of innovation and collaboration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Define and maintain technical and architectural standards across new and legacy projects
  • Lead design decisions and ensure solutions are implemented with quality and consistency
  • Provide technical mentorship and help colleagues to unblock challenges
  • Communicate project goals and priorities clearly at kick-off and throughout delivery
  • Supervise project progress, ensuring timelines and quality standards are met
  • Promote knowledge sharing and teamwork
  • Stay up to date with new tools and research and development, promoting them across the business
  • Contribute to recruitment by setting technical standards and supporting interviews
  • Support pre-sales activities by providing technical insight and presenting technical solutions to potential customers
  • Play a key role in new product development
  • Foster a strong developer community by organising hackathons, meet-ups and attending conferences
  • Help with resourcing developers to projects, ensuring the right skills are aligned with customer needs

Requirements:

  • A seasoned Senior Developer/Architect with extensive experience in Elixir and Erlang software development now seeking to step into a Technical Lead
  • Strong track record of mentoring or leading others while delivering high-quality solutions
  • Ability to set and communicate clear technical direction
  • Lead by example, setting a high standard for the team to follow
  • Someone who thrives in a growing, innovative environment
  • Experience working on complex technical projects and solving challenging problems
  • Excellent communication skills with a collaborative and supportive approach

Nice to have:

  • IT Consultancy experience, bringing the ability to work closely with customers
  • Knowledge of emerging domains such as IoT and/or Agentic AI, and how they can influence product development
  • Previous experience in Presales or an interest in supporting sales
What we offer:
  • 33 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • Company pension scheme
  • Private health insurance
  • Flexible, remote-first working with on-site collaboration as required
  • Home office allowance for setup and equipment
