Job Description

We are partnering with an innovative technology-led engineering company seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their growing team. This is a key role focused on the design, development and validation of advanced electronic hardware. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys a hands-on role, combining design, testing and problem-solving within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment. As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will take a leading role in the development and verification of electronic systems, ensuring products meet high standards of performance, reliability, and compliance. You will be involved across the full product lifecycle, from initial design through to production and validation.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead electronic design activities including component selection, schematic capture, and PCB layout
  • Ensure designs are optimised for manufacture and test, while meeting relevant regulatory standards (CE / UKCA, EMC)
  • Develop and execute robust test strategies, procedures and setups for electronic assemblies and subsystems
  • Design and build bespoke test equipment and automation tools to support development and production
  • Investigate and resolve complex hardware issues, carrying out detailed root cause analysis
  • Work closely with suppliers to assess specifications, integration approaches, and quality requirements
  • Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation including specifications, test reports, and validation records
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Electronics Engineering or a related discipline
  • 5+ years’ experience in electronic design and/or hardware testing roles
  • Strong experience with schematic capture and PCB design tools (ideally Altium or similar)
  • Proficient with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analysers and signal generators, as well as measurement tools
  • Solid knowledge of analogue and digital electronics, embedded systems, signal integrity and thermal considerations
  • Understanding of compliance testing e.g. EMC and quality systems such as ISO9001
