Join Cisco's dynamic Enterprise Switching Product Operations team in Guadalajara as a Senior Electrical Product Engineer. You will play a meaningful role in bringing to market and sustaining our high-performance Catalyst 9K switching portfolio, a cornerstone of Cisco's enterprise networking solutions. Job Responsibility
Drive Design for X (DfX) actions across manufacturability, assembly, test, cost, quality, supply chain, and customer use to ensure efficient product readiness for mass production
Partner closely with Electrical Design Engineering, Hardware Development, Software Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain Operations, and global Contract Manufacturing (CM) partners to guide products from early conceptual design through to launch
Influence and implement strategies to achieve target cost, outstanding quality, and timely delivery throughout the supply chain and into the customer environment
Support component and product qualification processes, including GQT (Global Qualification Tool) and MCN (Manufacturing Change Notification) processes
Lead and implement cost reduction initiatives and design-related yield improvements for existing products
Provide expert-level debug, analysis, and root cause investigation for issues identified during the product lifecycle
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for our contract manufacturing partners and regional Global Manufacturing Operations teams, addressing daily operational and technical challenges
Support end-of-life planning and execution for assigned products
Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related field
A minimum of 7 years of shown electrical engineering experience, with a strong focus on high-complexity, high-volume manufacturing environments
Hands-on experience with Printed Circuit Board (PCB) and Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) manufacturing processes, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT)
In-depth knowledge and practical application of Design for X (DfX) principles (e.g. Valor DFM analysis, Design for Manufacturability, Design for Testability)
Proven track record to work reliably within diverse, multi-functional teams
Nice to have
Master of Science (MS) in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and systems specific to networking equipment
Familiarity with key electronic components (commodities) used in networking hardware design and manufacturing
Experience with Value Engineering or similar cost optimization programs
Understanding of component qualification processes like GQT/MCN
